HAYMAKER
The 2024 finale of our jazz residency featuring Haymaker!!
Haymaker is - Loren Stillman on Saxophone, John Wicks on Drums, and Tommy Sciple on Bass.
One of the greatest challenges in music is making complexity feel natural and effortless. Saxophonist Loren Stillman continues to push his compositional boundaries, creating free-flowing pieces that draw from the past 60 years of American jazz — embracing its wide range of styles and temperaments: soft and loud, fast and slow, in tempo and out, free and composed, cluttered and sparse, swinging and non-swinging. His compositions challenge musicians to navigate these intricate musical landscapes while driving the music forward. To bring this vision to life, Stillman partners with collaborators, bassist Tommy Sciple and drummer John Wicks, performing a dynamic repertoire of new works.

JERRY JOSEPH
W/ SPECIAL GUEST MATT WALLIN
Jerry Joseph is a bonafide “triple-threat”: a prolific and accomplished songwriter, a powerful singer, and a memorable performer. Throughout his three-decade career, as a solo artist, with the Jackmormons, supergroup Stockholm Syndrome, his two-piece The Denmark Veseys, and his beloved 80s cult band, Little Women, Jerry has toured the world, visiting such unlikely locales as Lebanon, Israel, Kurdish Iraq, India and Afghanistan. Patterson Hood of the Drive-By Truckers states, "Jerry, to me is a cult figure who could, in some alternate reality, have easily been one of the biggest stars in the world. One of the greatest live performers I have ever seen and long one of my favorite songwriters."

TEAGUE GOODVOICE & NEVEAH KILLSNIGHT
LIVE AT SUITE TWO
Born in Missoula, and growing up on the Blackfeet reservation in Browning, MT riding horses, swimming in the clear glacier water, TEAGUE GOODVOICE draws some of his inspiration from his traditional Pikuni (Blackfeet) upbringing on the Rez.
The rest of his inspiration comes from performing in Europe dancing and sharing his culture in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, Scotland, and Ireland.
He picked up the flute in May 2020 and started his musical journey downtown Missoula playing outside by himself or with other musicians of any genre.
This has led him to acting, producing in movies as well as composing music for film. His music is described as ethereal, soulful, and his connection from his heart through his flute is felt in the listeners' soul.
NEVEAH KILLSNIGHT is one of the brightest young musicians in Montana. She earned a spot as a violist for the Billings Symphony during her junior year in high school. Her future is bright. PARTYGOERS
LIVE AT SUITE TWO
PARTYGOERS is known for high energy live performances and their swaggerous investigation of hip hop, house and electronic music. The three members reside in various locations strewn through the Rocky Mountain West, and in many ways their music reflects this. Sampled sounds from the forest creating tech-house soundscapes, high-elevation hip hop beats, side-chained kicks gasping for oxygen, gritty MPC laden tracks scratched by countless turntables…a sonic collage that strikes original. It’s a party.

FORREST
A Responsive art project inspired by nature
Friday, April 22nd, 2022
Forrest is an ongoing collaborative responsive art project created by Marissa Leitch and Kristin Howe. After nearly a decade of working professionally (sometimes together, but mostly too far apart) in branding and design, we found ourselves yearning for the space and time to create for the sake of creating—for the simple joy of making art together. With a shared respect for nature, we immediately turned to Earth for inspiration.
Forrest’s only rule is there are no rules. Just two friends, picking a planetary theme that resonates, writing, exchanging, and responding visually. Taking cues from nature’s own cycles, we take the time we take. We collaborate with patience, passion, and compassion. We experiment playfully.
